This MANDAU (sometimes also called “Parang Ihlang”) is a late 19C with a heavy 22 inches long thick blade very nicely engraved. The handle is “L” shaped, carved from antler and bound with braided rattan strips, with a tufts hair on the pommel tips and silver collar. Dark hard grained wood scabbard beautifully carved and bound with rattan strips. This Mandau comes with the side knife (Piso Raout) , in a rear compartment made of wood bark. Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. An original authentic piece of better quality than average for real use.
