Two Small Fine Sewar Daggers, Sumatra - 12959

This lot of two mid 19 C. Sewar daggers / knives are coming from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its down curving slender blade, by the grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Here the light slim blades are 7 and 7 ½ inches long, forged from good pamor steel. The grips are beautifully carved hardwood. The scabbards are grained wood with horn tip and silver band (one on each) and with horn protrusion on one of the lot. Total lengths 12 and 10 inches. This lot is coming from a Museum (?) collection with the original labels attached and with catalog numbers both on the labels and on small brass disks. Very good condition
