Fine Sikin, Ache Sword from Sumatra with Ivory Scabbard Mouth - 12950

From our private collection we offer this fine A Sikin, sword, Acheen from Sumatra, mid 19th C. The blade is straight and single edge, 21 1/2 inches long with a 14 inches long fuller just below the spine. It is forged from laminated steel. The steel bolster is forged in a polygonal shape. The hilt is carved from honey colored horn with a typical forked pommel. The scabbard is covered with twisted brass wire and mounted with chased brass mounts and finely engraved ivory mouth. Total length is 29 inches. Very good condition. |
