Fine 19 C. Jambiya Dagger from Oman with Rhino Horn Hilt - 12935

A fine late 19 C Arab Jambiya dagger from Oman. It has an 7 inches curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib, forged from good steel. The hilt is the classical “I” shaped cut from a massive solid piece of Rhino horn with filigree silver collar and band. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather and mounted with big silver filigree locket and chape. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of seven silver rings and twisted silver wire. This dagger comes with heavy belt decorated with braided silver strips on leather and with silver buckle. Very good condition. Minor nicks and shallow pitted spots on the blade. |
