Rare Sword and Scabbard of the Nkundo-Mongo Tribe Zaire - 6312

A very nice example of a sword and scabbard of the Nkundo-Mongo tribe, Zaire. A similar example is shown in African Metal Implements, Hillwood Art Gallery NY Page 36, Fig. 157. It is very rare to find the sword complete with its scabbard. The blade is 12 inches long, fullered and pierced. The hilt and scabbard are wood set with many brass tacks. Age worn overall but in good condition.
