Up for sale is this fine Khanda sword, 18 C. with a 30 1/2 inches long pattern welded steel blade widening to its maximum width of 2 inches just above the tip. The blade has brass inlaid decorations and reinforced with long decorative steel strips on the spine and a shorter one on the ricasso. The basket shape handle is classical Indian beautifully pierced ending with a 2 inches pommel spike. Velvet binding of the grip. Original wood scabbard covered with green velvet (later made). Total length 37 1/2 inches. Very good condition. A fine sword.
