This style of short yataghan sword is sometime referred to as "Naval Yataghan", probably due to its short blade. This exemplar has a finely forged sham blade steel, 12 inches long with a pronounced T shaped spine. The grips are walrus ivory and the grip strap and bolsters are silver set with coral stones. This Yataghan comes with a finely chased white metal scabbard with silver / coral array collar. Total length 19 1/2 inches. Good condition. Natural age crack on the grips . Reshaped bolsters.
