This very fine short sword is coming from Java, Indonesia, mid 19C. The blade is heavy with a ridged spine, forged from very fine pamor steel, 17 inches long. The grip is hollow ground faceted black horn and the mounts and the cross guard are silver. The tip of the guard is styled like a mythological creature. Total length 21 inches. Very good condition. The style of the sword reminds a European hunting sword and may be made to order to a European officer serving in Java.
