A fine small Punal dagger from the Philippines. These daggers are also known in the name of ‘Belt Kris’ and come in various sizes, from few inches to 15” long. This one is a rather small but fine exemplar. 4 ˝ inches blade, well forged, with flat diamond cross section and very finely engraved. The hilt is made from a typical light brown naturally grained wood with wood cross guard decorated with red lines. The scabbard is wood, bound with braided rattan bands. Total length 7 inches. Very good condition. Fine, early 20C. exemplar.
