This machete like short heavy knife is a Bendo from Java, Indonesia. Early 20 C. or earlier. The heavy marked blade is 9 ½ inches long 3 inches wide. dark beautifully grained hardwood handle with silver mounts. Wood scabbard bound with braided rattan bands set with black resin (one band n-missing) . Total length 17 ½ inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots on the blade.
