Up for sale is this very good late 19 C. steel helmet from Persia. 8 inch diameter, 11 inches tall (base to tip of pike, mail collar not included). The Helmet is shaped like a devil head, with steel horns and etched eyes. A short pike is mounted at the top of the helmet. The entire helmet dome is finely etched in a typical late 19 C. Qajar style with human figures, hunting scenes and Arabic verses. Very good condition. Traces of silver inlay decoration. Fine etching. Small losses to the mail collar. A very impressive helmet.
