We offer for sale this rare short dagger of the Mangbetu. The Mangbetu people live in north east Congo and are famous for their high quality art and craft especially musical instruments and weapons. The dagger has double edged blade perfectly forged 6 inches long. original leather scabbards bound with brass strips at the top. Carved ivory handles. Total length 9 inches. Very good plus condition. Early 20th Century.
