This shield is coming from Rajhastan, India 19 C. Made from the hide, most probably Rhino hide 17 ½ inches diameter, hand painted with gold colors on dark red background and set with four brass bosses. Velvet covered hand cushion and handles (later) on the red painted inner side. Very good condition. Age cracks on the paint with some losses on the perimeter.
