Fine Turkish Bichaq with Pattern Welded (Damascus) Blade Dated 1269 (1852) - 12706

This short knife in the shape of a small Yataghan is of Turkish origin, also known as Bichaq. its single edge blade is 9 inches long, finely forged from pattern welded steel in the pattern known as Turkish Ribbon, made from several layers of twisted steel bars. The blade is dated 1269 ( 1852 in the Gregorian calendar). The Handle is covered with chased silver as well as the scabbard. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. |
