A Flyssa, the traditional sword / Dagger / Knife of the ‘Kabyles’ people of Morocco. These type of swords come with blades of various sizes from 10 up to 38 inches. This one is a small version, second half of the 20C., but massive with a thick 12 ½ inches blade set with brass decoration on both faces and on the spine. The hilt is engraved brass in a styled animal head and a steel bolster, and the scabbard is wood carved in a typical design. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition.
