A fine Arab Jambiya dagger, Late 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge blade of good steel with a pronounced central rib. Massive hilt carved from modern synthetic material with a chased silver collar, partially gilded. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with gilded silver and silver strips and wires, and mounted with chase silver locket, partially gilded en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Original belt also elaborately embroidered with silver and gilded strips. Very good plus condition. Although modern, this is a very impressive example of the famous Arab Jambiya.
