Very fine enameled Mughal Matchlock Rifle Ex Figiel collection - 12634


This fine gun is a Toradar an Indian Matchlock gun, from the late 18 to early 19 C. Heavy barrel 50 1/2 inches long of very fine twisted steel pattern and remains of some gold decoration. Carved hard wood stock set with Lukhnow style silver enameled panels and a ring. Armory number stamped on the stock.The barrel is bound to the stock with silver bands (later made). Total length 70 inches. Very good condition. Few professional restoration to the enamel. This gun was originally purchased from the famous collection of Dr Leo .S. Figiel.
