Up for sale is this 19 C. fine Ottoman / Balkan big size Jambiya dagger, with 12 inches blade forged most probably from Sham (Low contrast wootz) steel, with gold inlaid Islamic inscriptions. Long handle cut entirely from a single piece of walrus ivory in I shape. Wood scabbard covered with silver with fine chasing of floral design. Total length 21 inches. Good condition, few blackened spots to the blade.Tip of the scabbard later replacment. Very impressive item.
