A fine Arab Jambiya dagger, mid 20 C. from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge blade of good steel with a pronounced central rib. Hilt carved from a massive piece of rhino horn with silver front panel and chased silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver strips and wires, and mounted with chase silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 12 inches. Original brocade belt. Very good plus condition. Impressive example of the famous Arab Jambiya.
