A loop dagger of the TIV people residing on the Benue river in Nigeria. Very typical but unusual whole still construction with the ring hilt forged in one piece with the blade. Rare round shape 5 1/2 inches long, 31/2 inches wide blade ending with a long acute tip. Flat hollow ground cross section with a central rib. Filed and chiseled ring handle. 9 inches total length. Very good condition. A rare version of blade and very elegant piece.
