Very Good Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Rhino (?) Horn Hilt - 12517

A very good Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger, early 20 C., from Oman. It has a 7 ½ inches curved and dual edge well forged blade with a pronounced central rib. The handle is horn, most probably rhino horn, with silver mounts. The scabbard is “L” shaped mounted with chased filigree silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of 7 silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length is 13 inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots and minor pitted areas on the blade. |
