Up for sale is this very unusual Safavid Persian helmet, probably 18 C. Diameter 8 inches, height 12 inches (helmet bottom to pike tip). Very fine gold inlay band with calligraphy at the bottom.The nasal protector, palm holders and spike are also decorated with gold. The steel dome is also decorated with fine gold inlaid arabesques. Very good condition. Very fine small size rings riveted chain. Very good condition for the age. One old restoration to the calligraphy band. A fine piece for the advanced collector.
