A beautiful Jambiya Dagger from East Turkey / North Iraq used by the Kurdish people residing in this region. Late 19 C. The blade is 11 inches long (point to point) curved and double edge with a central rib. It is forged from high quality wootz (Watered, Damascus) steel. The hilt is “I” shaped cut from black horn and set with six silver filigree domes. The pommel has a silver cup with three domes. The scabbard is made of wood covered with brown tooled leather in a typical Kurd style. Total length in scabbard is 18 inches. Very good condition.
