We offer here for sale a large late 19 Century war shield from Ethiopia. It is a conical shape, 22 inches in diameter (larger than the usual 16-18 inches) and almost 6 inches high, and of Buffalo (?) hide very nicely tooled with geometrical design. Good condition, slight distortions in shape due to hide age shrink and some damage to the inner handle. Beautiful age patina. Quite rare at this size and age.
