Very Fine Khyber Sword with Wootz Blade and Ivory Grips - 12362

This is a classical and very fine example of a Indian Khyber sword coming from North India, early 19C. The heavy massive blade is 20 inches long 2 inches wide, with a pronounced T spine. It is forged from very fine Wootz (Watered, Damascus) steel, of dark high contrast pattern. The bolsters and grips are steel decorated with gold koftgari inlay work. The grips are elephant ivory. Total length 25 inches. Very good condition. Original untouched blade etching. |
