The Genoui, is a rare variant of the classical Moroccan ‘Koumaya’ curved dagger with straight blade. The name literally means from Genoa, probably to indicate its ancient source. The straight 14 inches fullered blade is cut from an old sword, engraved with Arabic inscription and fitted with a massive horn handle set with Turqouise stones (one replaced). The scabbard is wood mounted with finely chased silver mounts. Total length 20 inches. Very good condition.
