The Parang Latok is a rare Sword / Machete from Kalimantan (Borneo). It is characterized by the heavy wedge blade widening toward the tip, with its lower unsharpened part and the hilt abruptly bent upward, allowing two hands grip of the sword. This exemplar is a rather simple one but authentic and functional. 16 inches blade, 10 mm thick near the hilt. Carved wood hilt with a brass collar. Total length 24 inches. Very good condition. This item is coming from the John Woodman Higgins Armory Collection . Acquired in 1946.
