Very Fine Moro Kris Sword with Large Silver Pommel - 12310

This very fine Datu Kris sword is Moro, early – mid 19 C. The blade is wavy, 22 inches long, very finely forged from laminated steel with heat hardened edges. The handle is wood bound with braided silver bands and plain silver bands and a large size 6 inches long silver cockatoo pommel. The two reinforcing bands (baka baka ) are silver. Wood scabbard (later). Total length 29 inches. Very good condition. This item (without the scabbard) is coming from the John Woodman Higgins Armory Collection and was donated to the collection by the descendant of Brigadier General W.H. Sage. |
