19 C. Indo-Arab Gilded Jambiya Dagger - 12260


This Jambiya dagger is a fine example of Daggers made for wealthy Arabs residing in India. It is a fine mix of Arab and Indian styles of weaponry and decoration. The shape is of a classical Arab style where as the materials and decoration is classical 19C. Indian. The curved double edge blade is 6 inches long with a central rib. The handle and scabbard are made from gilded chased copper with intricate floral design. Very good condition. Losses to the gilding.
