Sacrificial Sword Kora with Important Provenance, Nepal - 12221

This Kora sword a sacrificial Kora and it is constructed to exactly meet this purpose: Heavy, down curving, blade, with its deadly sharp edge on the concave side and with wide heavy tip to provide the weight needed for beheading an animal with one sword stroke. This one has a huge 21 inches blade, 7 inches wide at the tip. The blade is marked with the classical “sun” and inscribed: shree dev samsher no 3, the name of the Rana ruler 1862-1914, who ruled Nepal for 4 month only in 1901. Cylindrical grips with disks shape cross guard and pommel. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. |
