Rare and Unusual Moro Sword, Philippines - 12218

This unusual sword is Moro, from South Philippines, mid-late 19C. The blade is heavy, 20 inches long, single edged and hollow ground. It is forged from fine laminated steel. The base of the blade is in the shape of a kris blade. The grip is very finely carved ivory with brass collar. Wood scabbard with rattan binding. Total length 26 inches. Very good condition. Very good age patina on the grip. Age cracks on the scabbard. A very rare and unique sword.
