A fine Pesh-Kabz dagger from India. A fine wootz blade 9 inches long with thickened point and reinforced edge and T spine. The grips are elephant ivory with good age patina. The grip strap and bolsters are steel with gold inlay decoration. The scabbard is wood covered with original velvet and mounted with pierced silver fittings. Total length (in scabbard) 15 inches. Good condition. Old repairs signs near the bolsters. Age cracks and a small repair on the grips. The silver work suggest an Hyderabad origin.
