We offer here for sale an old. mid 19 C. Sewar dagger / big knife from central Sumatra. The Sewar is characterized by its heavy down curving blade, by the massive grip shape and specifically by the down extending protrusion from the scabbard mouth. Her the heavy blade is 11 ½ inches long, with two narrow irregular fullers near the hilt. The grip is solid horn and the grip collar is chased silver. The scabbard is wood with a big horn mouth, almost 5 inches long. The scabbard is bound with silver bands. Total length in scabbard 17 inches. Good condition. Very nice and black patina on the blade. Small damage to the silver collar. An unusual big and heavy knife.
