This Battle axe head is Persian, from the late Qajar period, dated to 1341 (1922 in the Gregorian calendar). Massive steel, 5 ½ inches long with a 2 ½ inches edge, finely decorated with in a classical Qajar style engraving. The back of the axe head is inscribed in Arabic letters: Yusuf Akbar Muttaqi for Darvish-Zadeh 1341. Very good condition.
