This hunting knife is made in the Caucasus, probably Georgia, for the Russian market, first quarter of the 20C. The finely fullered and clipped blade is 7 ½ inches long. The handle with a monstrous head pommel is finely chase and nielloed silver and with silver chain from the pommel tip to the quillon. Leather covered wood scabbard with finely chased and nielloed mounts. Total length 13 ½ inches. Very good condition. Very minor losses to the leather on the back of the scabbard.
