This dagger is late 17 – early 18 C, also known as Court Dagger. It was a side arm of the nobilities visiting the courts of the Ottoman empire. The wootz blade is 11 inches long and tapering to an acute tip with inserted gold and silver stars. The handle is a massive single piece of walrus ivory with very good dark age color. The scabbard is wood covered with finely chased silver. Total length 18 inches. Very good condition. Very minor pitted points on the blade. Minor chips on the ivory. The tip of the scabbard is repaired. Very impressive dagger.
