Fine Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt - 11997


A fine Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger, late 19 – early 20C., from Oman. It has a 7 inches curved and dual edge blade, very well forged with a pronounced central rib. The grip is rhino horn decorated with silver panel on its front side with a gold colored central band and mounted with chased silver collar. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with leather elaborately embroidered with silver and gold colored strips and wires, and mounted with silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of silver rings and twisted silver wire. Total length 12 inches. Very good condition. A small repair on the pommel tip.
