Very Good 19 C. Ottoman Court Dagger - 11963


This dagger is also known as Court Dagger. It was a side arm of the nobilities visiting the courts of the Ottoman empire. The blade is very well forged, 12 inches long and tapering to an acute tip with gold decoration and inscription in Arabic letters at the top. The handle is wood with the grips entirely bound with twisted silver wire and the pommel and cross guard are chased silver. The scabbard is wood covered with finely chased silver. Total length 22 inches. Very good condition. Few of the wire binding of the grip are lightly loose. The tip of the scabbard is repaired.
