This fine Khanjar / Jambiya dagger is Persian, mid – late 18 C. Zand period. The massive curved blade with central rib is 9 ½ inches long, forged from fine Wootz steel with high contrast pattern. The handle is whole steel, also forged from Wootz steel and finely chiseled with inscriptions in Arabic letters and gold decoration. Tooled leather scabbard with copper tip (probably later). Total length 15 ½ inches. Very good condition.
