This style of knife from Sumatra is also known as Tumbok Lada and it is characterized by the short massive ivory handle. This specific one is a very good exemplar. 9 inches massive fullered blade with a ridged spine. Short wide elephant ivory handle with good age patina. Wood scabbard bound with braided rattan strips decorative silver inserts. Total length 13inches. Very good condition. Blackened spots on the blade. Silver inserts on the scabbard are missing. Age cracks on the handle but it holds very solid.
