This Khanjar dagger is Persian, mid 19C. mid Qajar period. Unusual shape of blade with a wide spine and reinforced edges. The blade is very finely etched to imitate wootz steel, and decorated with gold koftgari work. Bone handle very elaborately carved in a classical Qajar style. Blade 10 ½ inches total 15 ½ inches. Very good condition. Losses to the blade etching. Age crack on one side of the grip but holds solid.
