This Very good Yataghan sword is Turkish, early - mid 19 C. Finely pattern welded forged blade in the structure known as “Turkish Ribbon”. Elephant ivory grips and chased brass bolsters and grip strap. Original scabbard covered with tooled leather with spiral stitching and mounted with chased brass locket and chape. Blade 24 inches, total 32 inches. Very good condition. The marking and inscriptions on the blade are lightly worn from excess polishing. Minor losses to the leather cover. An impressive Yataghan sword.
