Very Fine Qama / KIndjal made for the Turkish market - 11833

This very fine Qama / Kindjal is made for the Turkish market, probably in the Caucasus, early 20 C. Very good fullered blade with gold inlay decoration and maker stamp and fine etching in the fullers. Blade length 12 ½ inches. Silver handle and scabbard with very fine niello decoration. Of interest is the niello design of the Turkish army insignia on the upper front of the scabbard. Total length 18 inches. Very good condition. Unfortuntely the last four inches of the blade are somewhat pitted.
