Fine 18 C. Wootz Pesh-Kabz Dagger, India - 11825

This Pesh-Kabz is Indian, probably late 18 - early 19C.. The blade is 9 ˝ inches long, heavy, with reinforced edges and a pronounced T spine for half length of the blade (Typical to Indian Pesh Kabz daggers) . It is forged from fine wootz, with clear high contrast pattern. The grips are of walrus ivory with black horn spacers, the grip strap and bolsters are steel. Wood scabbard covered with blue velvet and mounted with its original pierced silver mounts. Total length 16 inches. Very good condition. The slightly up-curving blade and the “half” T spine indicate Indian origin. |
