This Shamshir sword is Arab, with Persian blade dated 1214 (1799 in the Gregorian Claendar). The blade is of classical curved shape, 28 inches long, forged from high quality Wootz (Damascus, Watered) steel of high contrast pattern. Horn grips with steel cross guard and grip strap and silver pommel cap (later). Total length 32 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks.
