The Ula or Ulu is a throwing club from the Fiji Islands. It is carved from the root stem of a local bush, and it is extremely hard. The head is ribbed all around, 4 inches diameter and the handle is 14inches long with nice carving at the tip. Total length 17 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina. Mid 20th C. vintage. A very similar club is shown in L. A. D. Montague, Weapons and Implements of Savage Races Page 87, Fig 48 # 1.
