Very Good Choora Dagger from the Khayber Pass - 11723

This very good Choora knife is a typical example from the early 20th C., coming from the Khayber pass area between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It was carried by the Mahsud people residing in this area. The blade is 7 inches long very well forged with a pronounced "T” spine. The grips are made of sectors of Ivory riveted to the tang with four rivets. The bolster and the hilt strap are finely engraved white metal beautifully painted red and green. The scabbard is wood, covered with nicely chased brass. Total length in scabbard 11 ½ inches. Very good condition. All parts are old and original. |
