This type of knife / dagger is called “PIHA KAHETTA”, and it is the traditional knife of the Sinhalese from Sri-Lanka (Ceylon). This very good example has an 8 inches blade inlaid with brass and silver decoration. Heavy highly decorative brass bolsters. The grip is carved from black horn . Original scabbard with silver mounts. Total length is 12 inches. Very good condition. Good age patina on the blade.
