Very Good and Unusual Georgian / Turkish Qama Dagger - 11685


This Qama dagger is originally Georgian, late 19 C. Very good blade, 15 inches long, with offset fullers, signed with a maker name. Horn grips with a finely nielloed front cover and rivets heads. Scabbard with finely nielloed mounts. A fine mosaic cover was added to the scabbard. This mosaic cover is of Turkish origin and composed of hundreds of small bone, black wood and brass pieces in a fine geometrical design. Total length 21 inches. Very good condition. Small losses to the mosaic pattern in the edges. Similar mosaic pattern is also found on Turkish / Balkan gun stocks from the period.
