Very Fine Omani Khanjar / Jambiya Dagger with Rhino Horn Hilt - 11682


As best as it can get. This very fine Arab Khnjar / Jambiya dagger is late 19 C. from Oman. It has an 8 inches curved and dual edge well forged blade with a pronounced central rib. The grip is carved from Rhino horn of good honey color mounted with fine filigree gold and silver mounts and decorated with many hundreds of silver nail on its front face and on the pommel side. The scabbard is “L” shaped covered with fabric and mounted with chased filigree silver locket en suite with the hilt mounts. The belt attachment is made of complicate arrangements of 7 silver rings and twisted silver wire. This dagger comes with its original brocade belt. Total length is 13 inches. Very good condition. Small damage to the blat. All parts original untouched. An exceptional item of its kind.
